A House of Vision

Every church needs vision. But what is vision?

The dictionary defines "vision" as "the ability to see". It describes an expectation. It's being able to see with our spiritual eyes what God will do in the future.

We can see it in Matthew 16:18 when Peter had just gotten the revelation of who Jesus was. Jesus answered Him, explaining that He would build His church "on this rock".

What is the rock? It's the revelation and the truth of who Jesus is and it's on that truth that God builds His church. And then He involves us in what He is building!

Many of us ask the Lord to be involved in what we build, and there is nothing wrong with having faith that God will work in and through us. But God wants us to be involved in His work in this world.

A church’s vision should be about a Saviour—Jesus. And as a church, we are convinced that whenever we build His house, He builds ours.

Let's not just be bystanders in what God is doing! You and I have a place in the vision and that's why I want to encourage you to embrace it, to run with it with what you have in your hands, and to be involved in what God is building: His church.
