Through the Bible: ExodusSample

God of the Impossible
Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
Exodus 14:13-14 (NIV)
Ever had your back to the wall, in utter despair?
The Israelites were pursued by the Egyptian army with the sea of death in front of them. Moses told them not to be afraid, to stand firm and experience God’s deliverance. They were assured that God would fight for them. But they had to be still and trust in the Holy One. God miraculously delivered them, by parting the sea and destroying the Egyptian army.
Isn’t it wonderful that our God is the same, yesterday, today and forevermore?
When faced with a battle, my instinct is to develop a plan of attack, often relying on my own strength. This is a timely reminder that God fights our battles and conquers enemies impossible to defeat. But we have to put our trust in God first. It may be hard to be still, put our trust in God and allow Him to fight our battles. But it is the winning formula.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thanks for reminding me of my own “Red Sea crossings”, for intervening at just the right time. Thanks for being a God of the impossible and for fighting for me. Help me not to be anxious about tomorrow. Help me to be still.
About this Plan

As the name suggests, the book of Exodus is about the departure of the enslaved Israelites from Egypt to the land God promised to Abraham. This is an invitation for the people to leave from bondage to freedom, to be called “My People” by God. Is there anything in life that is putting you in bondage? Do you want to be free? Join us as we journey through Exodus.
