Through the Bible: ExodusSample

The Gift of the Ten Commandments
…but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Exodus 20:6 (NIV)
We can easily miss that God gave us the Ten Commandments as an act of His love for us. It is not just a set of rules. The first four commandments are about how we respond to God’s love by loving Him. We love Him because He first loved us. Our love for God must be exclusive, respectful and is demonstrated by setting aside time to be with Him. The Ten Commandments are a gift from God to those who know His grace and redemption. They help us enjoy the freedom of living in a deep relationship with God, showing us how to live a holy, good and respectful life. Obeying the commandments is the best response to God’s love for us.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You that You say that we are Your treasured possession. Help us to put You as our first priority to worship and to love You with all of our heart, soul and mind. Help us to love other people unconditionally in the way that You love us. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
About this Plan

As the name suggests, the book of Exodus is about the departure of the enslaved Israelites from Egypt to the land God promised to Abraham. This is an invitation for the people to leave from bondage to freedom, to be called “My People” by God. Is there anything in life that is putting you in bondage? Do you want to be free? Join us as we journey through Exodus.
