REVIVE

DAY 1 OF 7

 DAY 1: REVIVE OUR LIVES

REVIVAL. In recent history there has been an overwhelming sense and feeling that the Church globally is on the precipice of something we have never seen before. God is reawakening hearts and souls across the earth. New songs about revival are being sung and messages about revival are being preached. God is on the move, and REVIVAL is in the air.

So what is revival? Ultimately, revival is when something moves from death to life. It is a rebirth, a reawakening, a restoring of what was, to what is. It’s not hard to look around the world today and see situations that appear to be dead. The vast majority of news stories depict situations that appear hopeless. If we’re being honest, sometimes when we look at our own lives, it can feel much the same.

Below the surface, the world is looking for answers. The world is looking for hope. The reality is, although they are a gift from God, the answers and hope we need cannot be ultimately found in our relationships, our careers, our leaders or even in ourselves. The only answer and our only hope is JESUS.

John 10:10 reminds us that Jesus came to bring LIFE. Jesus came not only to revive the things that are dead in our lives, but more than that He came to revive US. Ephesians 2 reminds us that we were once dead in our sin, meaning that there was no hope and no future for us. That is where Jesus stepped in.

When we begin to understand His grace and His goodness, the only appropriate response is to repent from our way of life and turn to follow Him. When we begin to understand what God has pulled us out of, what he has saved us from, and what He has given us, we can start to experience the real life that can only be found in Jesus.

Before revival takes place around us, revival must take place inside us. An awakening from our old life to the new one we have in Jesus. A new mindset, a new spirit, a new attitude and a new calling. A NEW life. A REVIVED life.

REVIVAL doesn’t just start WITH us. It starts IN us.

QUESTIONS:

1. Are there any areas in my life that feel dry or dead that I am believing God to bring to life?

2. Are there areas in my life that I need to turn and repent from?

3. What decisions do I need to make today to re-align aspects of my life to follow Jesus more closely?
