JESUS AND THE FISHERMEN

In today’s Bible story, Jesus starts his work in Galilee, in the north of the country, telling people about God and making sick people well again. He’s amazing! News about him spreads and many come to hear him. Today, Jesus is walking along the shore of the lake when something extraordinary happens…

If you have several devices, play the game at the same time. Or watch each other play, in turn. When you take on this Quest, you’ll find yourself in Capernaum, a small town on the shores of Lake Galilee, in the first century AD.

The shoreline is where all the action is and so you’ll need to find your way there. Don’t worry: Fabula, Ancora’s finest storyteller, is with you and she’ll help you as you leap over obstacles, climb buildings and discover where the crowds are. (You can read what Fabula says, and listen too with audio turned up on your device.)

TALKABOUT

• As you play together and see what happens in the game, you’ll find many opportunities to chat naturally about God, the Bible and the stories of Jesus. What is your favourite part of the story? Why do you like that part so much?
• Can you find the ‘God moments’ in the story – the moments when you can see God in action? Perhaps when the nets filled with fish? When Jesus invited the fishermen to follow him? What would it have been like to be there, at that moment?
• What does being a friend of Jesus mean to you? Remember you’ll all have different ways of saying this: value each person’s contribution and listen to each other’s ideas and feelings.

• If you had heard the story before, have you discovered anything new about it today?
• If the story was new to you, what is the one big thought you are thinking about it now?
