The Holy Spirit

Congratulations! You are 14 days into this plan! That’s a massive achievement - keep up the great work. Today and over the next few days, we’re going to talk about the Holy Spirit and His role in your faith journey. But before we jump into that, you might be thinking - who and what is the Holy Spirit? 

God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit are all God, all equal and have the same character, but have different functions. Before ascending back to Heaven, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to be with His followers [John 14:26]. Then in Acts [Acts 2:1-4], we see this promise become a reality. With the Holy Spirit empowering and leading them towards God's plan for their lives. 

To put it simply, God the Father planned how the world would be saved [Gen 3:16], Jesus carried out that plan on the cross [John 3:16], and the Holy Spirit was sent to empower and continue that work within followers of Jesus [John 14:26]. Over the next few days, we'll specifically focus on the Holy Spirit's work and what that looks like in you. 

PRAYER

Jesus, thank You don't just save us but stay with us through the Holy Spirit. Help me over the next week to become more in tune with Your promptings and plan for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
