Beyond: Following the Way of Jesus as We Do Outreach Sample
Partnership
As mentioned yesterday, we need to connect with others to meet the needs of others. Jesus models this in his ministry. He connected with a team (his disciples) he also connected with people in the marketplace.
A great example is the chief tax-collector Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was fascinated with the teachings of Jesus and climbed up a tree to listen to him. After listening, Jesus asked to go to his house. After they connected, the tax-collector gave half of his possessions to the less fortunate. This partnership impacted the community in a great way. This is how partnership creates resources.
As churches, ministries, and individuals we should partner with others to maximize our outreach efforts. This will increase our resources and make a greater difference in the lives of those in need.
Questions to ponder:
Who can I partner with to impact my community?
What can I give to support God’s mission of helping those in need?
