The manifestation of the eternal purpose

DAY 6 OF 7

The world revolves around God

When my whole life revolves around God, I no longer live in sin. I do not live my life missing the mark by not fulfilling my predestined purpose. The center is Christ, not me. When John the Baptist was in jail (after having taught that Jesus was the One who was coming, the Lamb of God), he suddenly understood that his condition was no longer the same as before; he was no longer popular. His followers were not in prison. He sent one of his disciples to ask Jesus if He was who John had said He was. Jesus listened and commanded John’s disciples to say, “The blind see, the deaf hear, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” All this was what Isaiah had prophesied of Christ.

Through these words, Jesus told John that even though John was in prison, Jesus was still who He was—the Christ. Jesus made it clear that John’s life revolved around Christ and not the other way around. If you die, you die, but the world goes on. Tell John that what Isaiah said, that the One Isaiah was talking about is Me.

Our lives have to be placed in the proper position. We need to understand why God gave us existence and reached out to us. Many think God reached out to us to provide joy, happiness, contentment, and riches. God does many things for us. The truth is He reached out to you is because you have a value far beyond enjoying life. The problem is that we are often like the donkey that Jesus rode to enter Jerusalem. Everyone was putting cloaks on the ground, and the donkey was saying, “Hey, look at how they treat me! I am important. My hooves no longer tread on the ground but royal cloaks. I didn’t realize how important I was. Everyone is happy to see me. They all greet me with their palms.” When Jesus got off the donkey, the donkey remained a donkey, and the world continued to revolve around Jesus. We must understand Christ did not come to dwell in us because life is about us. It is really about Christ.

About this Plan

The manifestation of the eternal purpose

To manifest God’s eternal purpose in our lives, it is necessary to know what that purpose is, to define it, to understand it, and to live it. In this 7-day devotional, Pastor Gerardo Cardenas leads us to understand this wonderful eternal purpose and guides us in a clear way to fulfill it day by day.
