Once Mary learned of the news that she would be pregnant by the Holy Spirit, she visited her cousin Elizabeth who was in her sixth month of pregnancy. The Bible doesn’t say what Mary was doing on her journey to see her cousin. She probably felt exhausted, wondering what her cousin would say about her soon-to-be pregnancy. Once she arrived at the entrance of Elizabeth’s home, without speaking a word, Elizabeth’s child leaped in her belly, and the Holy Spirit filled her with gladness. She knew Mary was carrying the child who would save the whole world one day.
What was Mary’s response in Luke 1:46-55? She responded with praise and worship and felt at peace, knowing the whole world would also have peace.
We will experience the unknown journey, wondering how to process things as we go through life, but if we choose to turn to God and trust, praise and worship, we can experience peace, knowing God will always be with us every step of the way.
