Only the Young

DAY 14 OF 21

Young people often forget that they have influence in both directions. They can influence those younger than they are, but they can also influence those who are older with their trends, thoughts, and values. This verse reminds young people to be good examples, which helps them remember how much influence they have even at a young age.

We're going to forget a lot more things than we can remember in life--scripture shouldn't be one of them. Scripture can be part of our root system as people growing as followers of Jesus. The more we know and understand scripture, the deeper and stronger our roots are, and the stronger we grow as people.

  1. Work this verse into whatever activity you have to practice for (like the Karate Kid! Wax on: Do not let anyone think less of you because you are young; Wax off: Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity). Say this verse during two-a-days, burpees, squats, memorizing math equations, practicing barre techniques for ballet, while perfecting your sketching techniques…
  2. Put this verse on whatever objects you find yourself spacing out while looking at them. By the end of the week, count how many places you've caught yourself spacing out and use those objects to help you remember the verse.

About this Plan

Only the Young

You’re only young once. There may never have been a truer statement, but while you’re young, it’s easy to miss the beauty of it. Let's take a look at what it means to own your faith, how to decide what your years of being young will be about, and why we all need the wisdom of someone older.
