Advent: Catholic ReflectionsSample

Advent is a time of preparation. We prepare our hearts, minds, and homes to celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation when Christ came to us as a baby and to be ready to greet Christ when he comes again in glory.
Our Bible readings today point us towards a vision of eternal peace in God's kingdom and a reminder that we do not know the day or the hour of the Lord's return. Jesus urges us to "stay awake" and "stand ready" to expect the coming of the Son of Man.
Perhaps staying up late or rising early to pray might be something for you to practice this Advent.
About this Plan

Advent is, of course, a time to prepare. To prepare our homes, lives, and our hearts. Join us as we explore the Bible readings used by the Church to challenge, encourage, and help us prepare, not only to celebrate the incarnation but also the second coming of Christ.
