Defy Your Limitations

DAY 2 OF 7

God is three components but one being – Father, Son, and Spirit. While they have the same mind and will, these components are separate but equal. The Father, Son, and Spirit each have specific roles. And, as beings made in God’s image, we share a similarity with our Creator regarding the Trinity because we are also made up of three separate entities – the body, soul, and spirit. And each has a role in our journeys of discovering our purpose and finding fulfillment.

It is no wonder why many people never discover the insights and secrets that are linked to the keys to a fulfilled life. The lack of understanding of the role each of the three components plays in our overall health and well-being could significantly impact our goals, dreams, destiny, and overall quality of life in a negative way.

There is no conceivable way to invest in one or even two of the three components (body, soul, and spirit) and neglect the remainder while expecting to experience a whole, abundant life. That is the reason people are frustrated, anxious, and aimlessly searching for significance. Individuals are incomplete until they make intentional, balanced investments into the body, soul, and spirit.

When the New Testament was written, there was a rise in more philosophical versions of religion. Religion became more about escaping from earthly existence and transcending it to some higher level of being or greater dimension beyond understanding. What is unique about the Bible is that it is the exact opposite of those ideas. Rather than ascending into God’s dimension, God descended to ours to give us His life right where we are. Therefore, the goal of Christianity is not breaking into God’s dimension but allowing God to break into ours.

God cares about every part of our lives. As we see in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we must take care of our bodies because God created them in His image and formed them to be a temple of His presence. We must evaluate our emotional health because this affects how we represent God to the world. How can we show God’s love to others if our emotions are out of whack? Finally, our spirits need care because this is where we connect with God.

These three items may seem separate, but they are all 100 percent connected and are equally important. While reading, think about what you are doing to take care of your body, soul, and spirit. Then ask yourself how you can better care for each area in your life.
