Think and Grow Wise

DAY 5 OF 7

As you begin to Think and Grow Wise, #5 is you must make a decision.

Allow me to share a Cherokee Indian tale about two wolves.

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

The scriptures tell us in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

What are you feeding your mind today?
Which wolf are you feeding?
What decisions have you been making that need to change right now?
If you were to reflect on your own life, are you serving God or money?
What does your schedule say about who you serve?
What does your bank statement say about who you serve?
What do your relationships say about who you serve?

Every time I read this Cherokee Indian story about these two wolves, I find so much understanding in the power of what you think about, which becomes the decisions you make.

Your thoughts are the ancestors of your feelings. What you think about is what you are becoming.

So you have to ask yourself, “am I thinking thoughts aligned with God’s assignment for my life?”

If you are not, what will you do about it?
What is the Spirit speaking to you to do?
What do you need to let go of?
Every day you are making decisions. Is God even considered?

If you want to Think and Grow Wise, how many of your decisions are aligned with the source of all wisdom?

Let me give you three suggestions (that are hard) to help create an atmosphere of better decision-making:

  • Read your Bible more than social media.
  • Be still, and meditate on God’s Word.
  • Eliminate all negative inputs not aligned with God’s Word.

If you are serious and want to Think and Grow Wise, challenge yourself to do things you have never done before so you can get results you have never had before.

When you believe it, you will see it.

Let me know what resonated with you the most.

God bless.

Rooting for you.

Praying with you.
