Three Things to Learn From Two Men: David & Solomon Part IISample
Worship in Pain
In the presence of the Lord are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). The Christian life is a life full of joy, but it is also lived on this earth that is marred by sin. We now live with sickness, loss, trials, and sufferings, yet in the midst of all that, even when it may seem impossible or insensitive, we can still worship God. Worship is an essential part of our Christian lives. We worship God in our prayers, songs, and living. Worship is a way for us to express our love, gratitude, and devotion to our Lord and Savior. It is important not only in times of joy and blessings but also in times of pain and struggle. David and Solomon both understood this and showed us how to worship no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in.
When we are going through difficult seasons, it can be hard to want to worship the Lord. We may not feel like reading our Bible, praying, or even attending church. But it is in these times that worship means the most. These times, we call out to God in deep pain and say, “Lord, meet me right here where I am. I need you. I need you bad.”
This is why we need to be active in our worship, not passive. We cannot wait for the feeling or the mood to strike us before we worship. We must actively choose to worship. This means singing when the worship team is leading, paying attention when the pastor is teaching, and actively asking God to speak to our hearts, minds, and souls.
But we need to be proactive about worship not only in times of pain but in times of blessing. It’s easy to think that we don’t need God as much when things are going well, but we also need Him in the seasons of blessings. Worship is essential.
Take a moment right now to pray and ask the Lord to help you be active in your worship. Ask Him to speak to your heart. Worship the Lord. Let God take care of you. Trust that He will meet you right where you are and guide you through whatever season of life you’re in.

About this Plan
Solomon was a wise man. You can learn three things from the wise and unwise choices he made. Wisdom wins the day, so ask God for wisdom daily. Tenderness wins the heart, so work on tenderness in your relationships. Your focus determines your finish, so remain faithful in your walk with God.
