KIDS: 21 Days of Fasting and PrayerSample
READ: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”—Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)
RESPOND: When I was younger, I made armor for myself out of cardboard boxes, and then I would ask my sister to pretend to be a bad guy and throw Lego pieces at my armor. It made me feel strong and safe. It was just pretend, but it didn’t hurt when she hit the cardboard box. Unfortunately, her aim wasn’t great, and I felt the pain when she missed. Ephesians 6:13 tells us about a different kind of armor: the armor of God. The armor of God isn’t meant to protect you from Lego pieces. Keep reading through Ephesians 6, and you’ll learn what all the armor pieces can do. Ask your parents to help you make armor out of boxes and other things, and label all the different pieces of armor with Post-its or markers as described in Ephesians 6.
PRAY: Dear God, help me to put on Your armor as I start each day. Help me trust You more than anything else, and always know You are my protection. Give me everything I need to always stand for You. I also pray for the leaders in our schools, cities, state, and country to lead well and stand for You. Amen.
