Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 4Sample

In Matthew 10, Jesus sends the disciples out as Apostles. Apostles, of course, come from the ancient Greek 'apostolos', meaning “sent ones”. Upon sending them out, Jesus warned the disciples that the authorities would be after them. He further warns them against physical suffering, emotional turmoil and many other conflicts. And yet, amidst all these hardcore warnings, Jesus tells them, “don’t be afraid”.
Now, why would Jesus say that? He is not trying to give the disciples a quick God-will-look-after-you message. He is encouraging them to be loyal and faithful and to follow His leading with patience and perseverance.
In this passage, Jesus also promises His love and care to you forever and always, even to the extent of numbering each and every hair on your head.
God is love, and God is faithful. As He is sending you on the same mission that He was sent by the Father, His love, grace and resurrection power are also your inheritance.
