6 Steps to DestinySample
Day 1: Relationship
A relationship is a state of being connected. It's considered an essential aspect of one's life, something that's extensively talked about, longed for, and sought after. Every human is involved in a relationship, whether it is a friendship, dating, marriage, family, business, or religion. But the most important and vital one is one's relationship with God the Father through Jesus, the Son.
God created us in His image and likeness, which means He is in us, and we are in Him. Being that He is our creator, it's impossible to live without and aside from Him. John 15:5 says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing." That's why having an honest and committed relationship with God means more than just being connected; it's the only way to live, grow and thrive.
Many people miss having a real relationship with God because of the lack of knowledge of who He is, sins that may have caused them to stray away, or experiencing life's trials and tribulations that have brought about resentment. But I've learned that the only way to master life and every other relationship is by being faithfully connected to the One who has demonstrated what a relationship is all about.
A relationship with God shows us how to love, honor, respect, give, forgive, and appreciate. When one builds and nurtures their relationship with God, one defines and understands Who He is while also discovering who they are. God isn't just God or our Savior; He is our Father, our Friend, our Confidant, our Protector and Provider, our all. And when we are secure and stable in our relationship with Him, we have the necessities and understanding that we need to build strong relationships as we advance.
