A Child's Guide To: Talking to GodSample

A Child's Guide To: Talking to God

DAY 1 OF 5

Help to Do Good

I have told you this, so that you might have peace in your hearts because of me. While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world.
John 16:33 (CEV)

What makes you angry? When do you just want to be mean? What are you thinking when you know something is wrong, but you do it anyway?

Sometimes we just make bad choices! We do things we know we shouldn’t, and we know we will get in trouble for them. We just want to do what we want.

We need to fight against the part of ourselves that wants to do bad things, but we can’t do it on our own. God helps us fight! He is so powerful!

When you think, “I shouldn’t do this,” that’s God talking! God always makes a way for you to stop making bad choices, like stopping yourself before you say something mean, leaving the room before you take the toy away from your brother or sister, or asking your parents for help.

God is stronger than your bad choices and he can help you do the right thing.

HERO TRAINING

God can help you stop doing bad things and start doing good things. What are some of the bad things you do, and what good things can replace them? Remember, God is always there to help you!

GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD

Every day, 8 million pieces of plastic are dropped in the earth’s oceans. (Make the good choice of protecting God’s beautiful creation by recycling your bottles, boxes, and cans!)

About this Plan

A Child's Guide To: Talking to God

Without knowing how to process emotions, our children can become overwhelmed. However, God is the answer and provides immense peace to all of his children. This 5-day devotional, designed specially for parents to read with their children ages 3-7, will help children to learn that by talking to God, he'll always meet them with comfort and hope.
