A Child's Guide To: Talking to GodSample
Far, Far Away
How far has the Lord taken our sins from us? Farther than the distance from east to west!
Psalm 103:12 (CEV)
Melody and her cousin, Lisa, were having fun playing a board game. Suddenly Lisa realized she was going to lose and got mad. She snatched the board game and threw it across the room in anger, breaking it in half!
“Lisa! Why did you do that?” cried Melody as she ran to pick up the pieces of her favorite game.
We all do bad things at times, like getting too angry, telling a lie, or not listening to our parents. Those bad things are called sins.
When we sin, we need forgiveness, which is a big word that means letting go of anger towards someone for what they did. Even though Melody was sad, she forgave her cousin and they played another game. And when Lisa asked God to forgive her, he did.
God will always forgive you and move your sin far, far away from you. And he can help you forgive others, too. God will show you how!
HERO TRAINING
God loves us so much that he forgives us when we do wrong things. Ask your parents for help writing out the word "forgive" and trace over it in different colors. As you do, think about God’s great love for you and how you can show that love to others by forgiving them, too.
GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD
Tiny hummingbirds fly from Alaska to Mexico every autumn. That’s 4,000 miles flown on those little wings, which is farther than going across the entire United States! God takes away our sin even farther away than that!
