Have you ever scrolled through TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram and found yourself watching "trust falls?" You know, the videos of someone standing on a chair or ladder, choosing to trust the people below to catch them? Who came up with this whole idea?! Whoever thought that standing in the opposite direction of everyone else, falling backward, and hoping the people you can't even see will miraculously catch you was fun?
The best videos are the "trust fall fails!" You have people falling in the wrong direction. There are videos where people fall through people's arms before crashing through grandma's favorite coffee table. Moments like those remind us why trust is very hard for a lot of us.
We've gotten burned by people who were supposed to be there for us, and they never showed up when it mattered most. In a sense, they dropped us during our trust fall.
How do we balance these experiences with the trust we're supposed to have in God?
Our verse today reminds us that God will meet and provide for all our needs. Following Jesus is the ultimate trust fall. We can't see Him, but He asks us to trust Him completely in all aspects of our lives.
Why?
Because He's never failed and has always been there to catch us when we fall.

About this Plan

At the end of each year, we have the chance to reflect on everything that's happened and all of the people around us. There’s so much we can be thankful for every year — even if things didn’t work exactly how we planned. God has given us so much, and the birth of Jesus is a great way to focus on all of the gifts we’ve received this year.
