GOOD TO ME

Life begins when we surrender

When I was staying at a friend’s house in Toronto after leading worship at his church, we started talking and sharing songs that God was writing through us. He shared this song idea he was working on for quite some time. I was so overwhelmed with the prayer in verse one:

Everything I am Everything I have is Yours
Not one thing do I want more in this life
My heart is Yours

I was so drawn to that prayer. Lord, may that be my prayer daily! I get so distracted with the things of this world that I fail to recognize his beauty, grace, forgiveness and love.

Our culture surrounds us with the exact opposite desire. We think that everything we are and everything we have is ours! We need to daily point ourselves to the Lord and seek Him and His presence alone.

The only thing I ask
This alone I seek to be with You
One day inside Your courts
Is better than a thousand in this world

Seeking after Him and His kingdom has to be our first desire in life. Everything else will fall into place according to His purposes and plans. Life truly begins when we surrender our lives to the Lord and give him our hearts completely. Often times, we surrender 60% of our lives to him, maybe 75%.

Your ways are higher
You’re my desire
Lord God Almighty I live for Your glory

He wants 100% of your life! Surrender your life completely to him and watch as he showers you with overwhelming kindness and love.
