Walking With God: 7 Shorts for Your Life JourneySample
Right On Time
In the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, we witness a powerful example of divine timing. Jesus purposefully waited two days before arriving in Bethany, knowing the custom that after three days, a person’s spirit could potentially return to their body. However, on the fourth day, they were considered truly dead, and the community would begin their four days of mourning.
Jesus understood this custom and desired to reveal His glory through Lazarus’ resurrection. He neither came too early nor too late. He was right on time!
In John 11:43, Jesus calls out to Lazarus, who then gets up, and walks out of his tomb.
Just like Jesus fulfilled His purpose at the perfect moment, we can trust that He will also come through for us. Even when it seems like our prayers are unanswered or our circumstances are bleak, we can have faith that God’s timing is impeccable. He knows the bigger picture, and works things out in the most remarkable ways. Often, we may not fully understand it when it feels like God is not listening to our wants and needs. The truth, however, is that God doesn’t adhere to our timing. He waits until the perfect moment and then, He acts accordingly. We may not always understand the plans that lie ahead of us, but rest assure that it is God who has written them out.
Let us draw strength from the story of Lazarus, knowing that Jesus is aware of our situation. He may not come when we expect Him, but He will always be right on time, orchestrating His plans for our lives.
In our moments of waiting, let us hold onto hope and trust that His divine timing will bring about the greatest blessings and miracles.
