Day 19: Finding Joy in Surrender
In a world that often demands more from us than we can give, the concept of letting go can feel counterintuitive. Yet, there’s an undeniable Joy in surrendering our burdens to God. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus invites us to lay down our heavy loads, promising not just rest, but also an easy yoke and a light burden.
Letting go doesn’t mean giving up or shirking responsibilities. It means entrusting our worries, fears, and challenges to God, confident that He will guide us through. This act of surrender can bring immense relief, and, in that relief, we often find Joy.
The Joy of letting go is a joy rooted in trust—a trust that God is in control and that He is Good. As we lay down our burdens, we pick up peace, contentment, and a renewed spirit, free to experience the fullness of Joy that God offers.
What burdens are you currently carrying that you need to let go?
How does the idea of letting go make you feel?
What steps can you take to entrust your challenges to God?
Take some time today to identify a burden or worry that you’ve been holding onto. In a quiet moment, offer it up to God in prayer, asking for His Guidance and Peace.
