Day 8: Finding Joy in Community
Community can be a rich source of Joy. The Bible places a high value on fellowship and mutual encouragement among believers. The idea is not just to socialize, but to intentionally “stir up one another to love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Being part of a loving community can be both affirming and challenging. It provides a safe space to share your Joys, sorrows, achievements, and even your failures.
It’s not just about taking but also about giving—encouraging others, being there in times of need, and actively participating in the collective spiritual growth of the community. The Joy of community comes full circle when we give of ourselves and receive from others in an atmosphere of genuine love and support.
How do you currently experience community?
What can you contribute to your community to help foster love and good works?
Are there any barriers that make it difficult for you to engage with a community? How can you overcome them?
Reach out to someone in your community whom you’ve not spoken to in a while. Offer a word of encouragement, or simply check in to see how they are doing. Make it a point to genuinely engage with your community this week.
