Proclaim

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” (Phil. 4:8-9)

Prompt

When you live in fear and insecurity, you’re avoiding thinking about the very things that Paul tells us to dwell on in this passage.

Do you know the main reason why most people say NO? It’s fear. We’re scared! We can get crippled by the thought of what new people might ask of us or what new experiences may require of us.

Our walls keep us secluded and our minds trick us into thinking we won't enjoy new practices or that we'll look silly if we decide to try. What will people think? What will they say?

Who cares?! Those bricks of insecurity and fear must be demolished. We must face them head-on! Just remember: with every YES, the bricks of fear and insecurity are falling and a firm foundation of freedom is being built instead! Be grateful!

Make a list of four fears or insecurities that are holding you back. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal them to you. Share them with someone you trust and ask them to pray with you to give them back to God.

Jesus, you have made me more than a conqueror. Help me overcome my fear and anxiety today. I refuse to walk in fear anymore! Give me the courage to overcome [NAME A FEAR OR INSECURITY] in health and security. I can do anything because you’re right there with me! Amen.
