Proverbs - Wisdom for Life

DAY 1 OF 15

We’re going to learn all about the book of Proverbs, but first, what is a Proverb? A proverb is a short saying that gives you wisdom for life. Sayings such as “Better to tie the lace of your shoe, than trip and fall on your face,” or “Never judge a book by its cover.” The book of Proverbs in the Bible is a collection of these wise sayings, written mainly by King Solomon. King Solomon was one of David’s sons. He was known as the wisest king ever to live.

These proverbs give us wisdom for life, teaching us the importance of guarding our hearts, living our lives, and living with others, but most importantly, wisdom for living a life relying on God.

Solomon was more than just clever. He had wisdom given from God, wisdom that thousands of years later can help us in our lives today. Solomon could have asked God for anything, but what he asked for was wisdom. You and I can ask God for wisdom, too—that would be a really wise thing to do!

Day 2
