Easter - Where It HappenedSample

At the beach, by a lake or even on a boat you may have seen a lifebuoy ring. If someone is in the water and needs help, you can throw the lifebuoy out to them, when they take hold of it, they’re able to float and be rescued from the water. If someone were overboard from a boat and drowning, taking hold of a lifebuoy could save their life.
We all need to be rescued. Without Jesus we are separated from God, and we can’t save ourselves. Jesus is our Saviour. It all begins with a day we call Good Friday, the day we remember that Jesus died on the cross. It’s easy to think of Good Friday as a dark day, but it is also a day of good news because Jesus’ death on the cross made the way for our relationship with God to be restored. We celebrate on the Friday because we know Sunday is coming. On Easter Sunday we celebrate that Jesus rose again and is alive! He saves us from being separated from God by sin. Jesus took the punishment for sin so we can be saved. Jesus makes a way for us to be close to God.
When we choose to follow Jesus, we accept forgiveness and we are saved from sin. We might look to other people or other things to rescue us or to make us feel better but this doesn’t work. There is only one way to be rescued from our sin. God sent Jesus to be our Saviour.

About this Plan

The Bible is not a book of made-up stories; it’s about real people and real places, places we can still see today. As we journey through the places where Easter happened, we remember why Easter happened. We remember that Jesus is our Lord, Saviour, and Risen King.
