 God Promises His Word to be Enlightening

The commands of God are so crystal-clear that they bring light into the darkness in every human heart.

God’s Word eliminates darkness. “The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalm 19:8b, ESV). Commandments are orders or divine decrees—the things God insists that we do and keep on doing. One version translates pure as “radiant.” This is the idea of the absolute absence of impurity.

The world we live in is very dark, and the book God wrote has the power to dispel all that darkness and confusion. If you are struggling this moment with a lot of questions about your life and the world we live in—if you struggle to reconcile what you see with the existence of a loving God—you really must get into the Book where He explains all of that.
