3-Minute Devotions for Teen GirlsSample

Look Up
I love getting outside and taking walks or hiking trails. But too often my gaze stays on my feet and the path immediately before me. I consciously have to pull my eyes up and remind myself to take in the beauty of my surroundings as I walk. Life is like that, too. It’s so easy to keep our eyes focused on the immediate—schoolwork, athletic performance, feeling accepted, frustration with parents, etc. It’s hard to look past tomorrow, let alone beyond high school! But God wants you to pull your eyes all the way up—to Him. He wants you to look beyond your present circumstances and remember what’s truly important—eternal life with Him. So release your worries, realign your priorities, and let go of the temporary things here on earth. Keep your eyes and your mind focused on what truly lasts. Look up and see the beauty of God all around you instead of staying focused on the dull path before you.
Thank You, Father, for the hope of heaven. Help me to lift my eyes and thoughts above my present circumstances to You and be filled with joy, peace, and hope. Amen.
