5 Keys to Effective Evangelizing

DAY 5 OF 5

Key 5: Be bold for the moment

You have reached the moment that someone seems ready to accept Jesus.

How do you do something like that?

What do you say exactly?

Is there a special formula?

No, that doesn’t exist.

There is no sinner’s prayer that people should pray.

What they must do is repent. Repenting is turning your thoughts and heart away from your life by rejecting it.

And then they should openly confess that they recognize Jesus as the Son of God who died for them and is risen again. To do that, you can give the words that they can repeat out loud. Tell them that it’s not about your words but about their heart and what they believe in their heart. They must want to confess from their deepest being.

And then after their agreement, you pray with them.

You let them close their eyes but keep them open yourself.

Invite them to focus on Jesus for a moment. Tell them for example: ‘Direct your heart towards Him and think about nothing else but Jesus for a moment.’

Then pray out loud with them to accept Jesus.

Congratulations! You have just led someone to Jesus. The Bible teaches us that the angels celebrate in heaven over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:10).

Is it not a great honor that you may do this for God?

But take note!

For this key, you must always be ready to dare ask the question: ‘Do you want to accept Jesus in your life?’

The Word teaches us that we haven’t received a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:6).

We don’t have to be afraid of rejection or someone’s opinion when we ask the question to make a life-changing decision.

Jesus says in Mark 8:38: “If you are ashamed of Me, I also will be ashamed of you before My Father.”

The first disciples were persecuted and threatened for speaking the Name of Jesus. Yet they continued, thanks to the boldness that the Spirit of God gives. They spoke before leaders, scribes, and many others, no matter what it would cost them.

If you walk in these 5 keys, it will happen by itself that a faith is built in you that will give you a boldness that is not of this world. Such faith, embedded by these 5 keys, will ensure that you can effectively execute God’s command for evangelization!
