Making Room for Revelation
Uncertainty is a reality we all face daily. Questions like What’s next? Where should I go? or How will this work out? weigh on us. Joshua and the Israelites faced the same challenge as they prepared to leave the wilderness and enter the Promised Land. After 40 years of wandering in circles, it was time to move forward—but they had no idea where to go or what to expect.
God gave them direction:
"When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, carried by the priests, you are to move out and follow it. But keep a distance of about 2,000 cubits; do not go near it, so you can know the way to go, for you have not been this way before." (Joshua 3:3-4)
The Ark of the Covenant represented God's presence. By making room—keeping distance to honor God—they allowed Him to lead them into the unknown. The same principle applies to us. Every day presents new challenges, and without God's guidance, we can feel lost.
Today, through Jesus, we carry God’s presence within us. Yet we still need to pause, seek Him, and make room for His wisdom and direction. Are we rushing ahead, relying on our efforts? Or are we taking time to let God’s presence guide us?
Reflection Questions:
- How can you make more room for God’s presence in your daily decisions?
- Are there areas in your life where you’ve been rushing ahead instead of seeking God’s guidance?
- What steps can you take today to pause and wait for God’s revelation?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gift of Your presence and guidance. Help me to pause and seek You in moments of uncertainty. Lead me with Your wisdom and reveal the path forward. I trust that You are with me, guiding me to my own Promised Land. In Jesus' name, Amen.
