Faith Incorporated: 5 Reasons to Integrate Your Faith and Work

DAY 2 OF 5

5 Reasons to Integrate Your Faith and Work: Reason Two

In this series, we’re sharing five reasons why incorporating your faith into your work has great value. The second reason is because God rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

In 1955, Stanley Tamm’s heart was moved for the country of Columbia to know God. Stanley sought God with his request, but God told Stanley it would require surrendering 100% ownership of his company.

Stanley had previously been instructed to make God his majority partner and had donated 51% of his company stock to a foundation. Now God was asking for an even bigger step. Stanley obeyed, turning all stock over to an evangelistic foundation.

Years later, over breakfast, Stanley joyfully told me, “Since 1995, we’ve funded over $200 million in evangelism efforts.” Stanley sincerely believed that God exists and that God could accomplish far more with owning Stanley's stock in the company than when Stanley had previously owned the stock himself.

Hebrews 11:6 teaches, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Faith, incorporated into your business life, comes with incredible rewards. In Mark 11:22-24 Jesus said, "“Have faith in God,” Jesus said to them. “Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

When we earnestly seek God the only limits we face is our lack of faith and God's will. Daily integrating our faith into our work reflects the level of faith we truly have.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Reflect on a time when you felt God was asking you to surrender something significant in your life or career. How did you respond, and what impact did it have on your faith journey?
  • What does “earnestly seeking God” look like in your own work or personal life, and how have you experienced rewards—spiritual, emotional, or tangible—through this pursuit?
  • Consider an area of your life where you might be holding back from fully trusting or surrendering to God. What steps could you take to align your actions with faith and obedience, as Stanley Tamm did?
