Today's Prayer: Pray they would believe in the One who gives hope.

I’ve prayed this prayer as I rise, when I walk, and before I go to bed each night. There’s not a greater longing in all my heart than for my children to know God and make Him known. The freedom and life that the Lord offers is an undeserved gift that has been lavished on me, and my prayer is that I live in such a way that my children understand that the Lord has poured it out for them as well.

Today I encourage you, especially if you’ve never done so, to pray for your children’s salvation. Luke 8:14 talks about good soil as a metaphor for those that believe God’s word and then produce real fruit. The soil has to be fertile in order for the plant to take root and grow. Today, pray that your child(ren)’s heart would be soft, fertile soil.

In Colossians 2:7 Paul talks about the Colossians being “rooted in him and built upon him.” Today, pray that your child(ren)’s faith would be rooted in Christ and built upon Christ.

Pray that they will accept this free gift of eternal life and believe He is the only true source of hope.
