EquipHer Vol. 22: "Kingdom Values as Your Personal Culture"Sample

Day 1 – The Power of Authenticity
How many times have we heard the phrase, “Actions speak louder than words”? It’s a common saying, because it’s true – what we do often carries more weight than what we say, and the same holds true for our walk of faith.
When the world looks at us, it’s not just listening to our words—it’s watching for consistency. It’s looking for authenticity. People are moved when they see alignment between what we say and how we live, especially in the professional world —where competition and fast-paced lifestyles often overpower empathy and humanity. It stands out because it goes against the flow.
Jesus Himself taught us this principle very clearly when He said to His disciples, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:35 NLT). He didn’t talk about doctrinal knowledge, spiritual titles, or outward signs. He talked about concrete, tangible love.
Think for a moment about your workplace. What are the situations where living out this kind of authenticity becomes a real challenge for you? Maybe it’s that colleague who constantly criticizes your work, testing your patience every single day. Maybe it’s that difficult client who always asks for too much and never says thank you. Or maybe it’s your boss who never seems to notice your efforts. It’s precisely here, in these ordinary and often complex situations, that the Gospel calls us to intentionally choose love, not because it’s always easy, but because it’s transformational.
Why is authenticity so powerful? Because it demands that we rise above our ego and our personal reasons. and reflect the character of Christ in our small, everyday choices. We don’t need to wait for a big opportunity to witness—every ordinary moment is a chance to love those around us in real, tangible ways. That’s where true witnessing begins.
What you can do today:
Think of someone in your work environment with whom you struggle to have a peaceful relationship. Today, take a practical, intentional step to show them love and respect: maybe a message of encouragement, a sincere word of appreciation, or offering to help with a task that’s not your responsibility. Do something real, simple, and meaningful.
Prayer: Father, I want every daily choice I make to be an authentic witness of Your presence in my life. Give me the courage to love even when it’s hard, and help me become a tangible instrument of Your love in the places You’ve called me to. Amen.
