10 F-Words for the Faith-Driven Entrepreneur

DAY 8 OF 10

8. Farm It Out

The myth of the heroic solo founder is a dangerous one. It tempts entrepreneurs to believe they must do it all, carry it all, and fix it all. But for the Faith-Driven Entrepreneur, wisdom looks different. Wisdom shares the load. Remember the advice given to Moses:

Moses’ father-in-law replied… "select capable men… that will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you.” – Exodus 18:21a,22b NIV

Scaling a business means building systems that can function without you. If everything depends on your energy, your presence, or your approval, then you haven’t built something that can last – you’ve just built a job with no off-switch.

Even Moses tried to lead that way. He took every dispute, solved every issue, answered every concern – until it wore him out. His father-in-law saw the problem and offered a better path: delegate. Empower others. Share the work. That wasn’t a rebuke. It was a gift. It was his advice for success:

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” – Proverbs 15:22 NIV

The wise entrepreneur learns to “farm it out” – intentionally and prayerfully. This isn’t about letting go of responsibility; it’s about multiplying your effectiveness.

Let’s consider 3 facets to this advice…

1. Delegate. Hire people who are better than you at specific things and give them real ownership. Trust is not micromanagement. It’s empowerment. Don’t just assign tasks – share the mission.

2. Outsource. You don’t have to build everything from scratch. Tap into tools, partners, contractors, and systems that free you to focus on what you do best. Stay lean where it counts. Be efficient where it matters.

3. Partner. You don’t need to own every link in the chain. Own your core value – and then align with others who complement your work. Partnerships allow you to extend your reach without overextending your resources.

Like the Bible says, use your gifts, rely on others to fill in the gaps:

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” – 1 Peter 4:10 NIV

And in this context, stewardship isn’t about managing money. It’s about managing your time, your talents, your energy, your team, and your calling. As a Faith-Driven Entrepreneur, you are not called to burnout. You are called to build something that brings life to others, not just pressure on yourself.

You were never meant to do this alone. So, build the team and share the load. Let others rise and lead with you. That’s not a sign of weakness – it’s a sign of strength and maturity.

Because in the Kingdom of God, multiplication doesn’t happen through control. It happens through release.

Remember this: You can’t scale a one-person army, but you can scale a mission – if you're willing to let others carry part of it.
