TLV Daily Proverbs With DaniahSample

Proverbs Chapter 27
Welcome back to the Daily Proverbs with Daniah! In today’s proverb, Daniah discusses humility and the importance of not boasting about the future. Keeping in mind how fleeting life can be makes us wiser! Understanding our fragility makes the wonderous things in the world all the more beautiful and boasting in our relationship with the Lord brings Him glory.
Scripture References:
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Let another praise you and not your own mouth, a stranger and not your own lips.
- Proverbs 27:1-2 TLV
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a town and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Therefore whoever knows the right thing to do and does not do it—for him it is sin.
- Jacob (James) 4:13-17 TLV
Thus says ADONAI: “Let not the wise boast in his wisdom nor the mighty boast in his might nor the rich glory in his riches. But let one who boasts boast in this: that he understands and knows Me. For I am ADONAI who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth. For in these things I delight.” It is a declaration of ADONAI.
- Jeremiah 9:22-23 TLV
