Identity
Have you ever looked at someone else and wished you could be more like them? Maybe they were better at sports, got higher grades, or seemed more popular. When we compare ourselves to others it changes how we see ourselves, and not in a good way. But God reminds us that He created us in His image. This means God made us to show His character to others, a character marked by love, goodness, humility, truth, and mercy.. He’s given us an identity that only we can live out. Instead of comparing our life to someone else’s, we can ask God to help us see ourselves the way He sees us: valuable, loved, and worth sending Jesus to die for.
Reflection:
Take this question to an adult in your home: How can we remind each other to see ourselves the way God sees us?
Prayer:
“God, thank You for creating me in Your image. I know that You made me with gifts, talents, and holy desires to be used for Your purpose. Please help me to guard myself against jealousy and comparison. And help me be grateful for the things that make me unique and special. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
