DAY 30 OF 30

Ongoing Amazement

Imagine the amazement people experienced as the Lord worked in and through them over the years. Now it's our turn to live in amazement at the greater works the Lord has done and is doing.

We can become amazed by reading the works of God in the Bible. We can marvel at our King by reading the accounts of His works throughout Church history. We can be astonished by the testimonies we hear from people on how the Lord has worked through them to impact others. And we can stand in awe of the things He’ll do through us as well. And it doesn’t require an earth-shattering moment to give us a sense of wonder. That’s probably why Matthew wrote, “And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward” (Matthew 10:42, ESV). What it may require, however, is a dose of intentionality.

At times, it will be clear that the Lord is at work around us, as opportunities emerge. But participating with Jesus in the greater works also results from obeying His Word, acting upon the desires of our heart (as long as they align with his will and Word), and stepping out in faith to see how the Lord is leading and working. Even when our intentional attempts are met with seemingly closed doors, the Lord often uses these to guide us to open doors. (Acts 16:6-10).

Therefore, my prayer as we conclude this journey is that the Lord will remind you of how he’s worked through you in the past to touch the lives of others. From small acts of kindness to closed doors that led to eventual opportunities, the Lord doesn’t take time off; “he’s always working.” Consequently, there are many more things he wants to do in and through you and me—so that we will be amazed.

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21, ESV).

Prayer: Our Father, open our eyes to see, and our ears to hear what you’re doing in us and around us. And by your grace, help us to partner with you as you transform lives for your honor and glory. Amen.

Matthew 10:40-42
Acts 16:6-10
Acts 17:1-21

About this Plan

Amazed

In John 5, after Jesus heals a man at the pool of Bethesda, he then declared that greater works would occur, causing people to be amazed. Over the next thirty days, this plan by Dr. P. J. Meduri from Taking the Field Ministries will explore the claims of Christ regarding these greater works. Works he continues today through his followers.
