Giving Thanks to God in the WildernessSample

His Word for Today: Book of Numbers 6:9-12
All of our sins, past, present, and future, were forgiven at the cross 2,000 years ago. (Ref Hebrews 10:10) This means that we are to rest in Christ no matter what we have done, are doing, or will do. This is a privilege we have as Christians. But what keeps us from experiencing His rest?
Scripture says that it is only those who believe that can enter His rest. (Ref Hebrews 4:3) It is relatively easy to believe in areas we have been taught or hear frequently as truth to believe in. For example, God loves you (Ref John 3:16), praying for those who hurt you (Ref Mathew 5:44), and keeping priorities right for provision (Ref Matthew 6:33) are taught and talked about often in churches, etc.. These are truths that can transform our lives and they are foundational. We can certainly experience rest through these verses.
But how about the ones that are rarely taught that can end up being our blind spots? This is one of the reasons why it is so important to have a daily and constant personal conversation with the Lord. Whoever seeks will find. (Ref Matthew 7:7) Some of the biggest breakthroughs I experienced in my walk with Christ came when the Holy Spirit led me to verses of Scripture and sometimes into the original Hebrew or Greek to reveal His truth that I had never heard others preach or talk about. Additionally, it may be one single Word that stood out that can transform your life from the inside out. For example, the Word forgiveness (Greek: aphiémi), used many times in the Scriptures, has a definition “permit and suffer”. I never really understood when I heard teachings about “letting go” of past hurts. But when I chose to “permit and suffer” the past hurts, all of the pains were supernaturally released from the depth of my soul. I thought I had to live with the constant emotions and thoughts of past bitterness, but I was set free. And what was more amazing was that this breakthrough led to breakthroughs in other areas of life. Hallelujah! (Ref 3 John 1:2)
Today, let us seek His guidance in terms of areas where we feel restless. Have we gotten so used to them that we have come to a point where we just accept them living a mediocre life? Christ invites us to experience His rest in deeper and greater ways.
May the Lord continue to richly bless you!
