From My Words to God’s Word
From the very beginning of this plan, we have said that words matter. Anxiety often shows up in what we speak: “My anxiety is kicking in.” “I’m always anxious.” “This fear will never leave me.” These phrases sound small, but they shape how we think and how we live.
Proverbs reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Our words can reinforce anxiety, or they can replace it with truth. Jesus modeled this in the wilderness when He answered the enemy with Scripture, saying, “It is written…” Instead of agreeing with lies, He spoke the Word of God.
When we speak God’s Word, we shift our focus from our own weakness to His strength. His words are Spirit and life. Our words alone cannot defeat anxiety, but His Word spoken over our lives can. The choice is ours: will we keep repeating our anxious thoughts, or will we begin declaring God’s truth?
Prayer:
Lord, forgive me for the times I have spoken anxiety over my life. Teach me to replace my words with Yours. Fill my mouth with Scripture that brings life and peace.
Daily Challenge:
Write down one anxious phrase you’ve spoken recently (for example, “my anxiety is bad today”). Then write a Scripture next to it that speaks life. Speak the Scripture out loud whenever that thought rises.

About this Plan

Anxious thoughts. Racing worries. Sleepless nights. For many of us, anxiety has become part of our everyday vocabulary, even something we call “my anxiety.” But what if God never intended for anxiety to take permanent residence in our lives? Over the next 30 days you will explore what anxiety is, where it comes from, how it shows up in our lives, and what God’s Word says about overcoming it. Anxiety is real, but it does not have to define you. Let’s walk through this plan together and take our peace back.
