You Were Made To Be Loved
This world is quick to tell you all about how things work. Modern science can explain how your nerves receive sensations, how your taste buds send information to your brain, how light travels, how sound waves make music, and a thousand other explanations for how things work. But the one question that people are unable to answer is, “Why am I here?”
Most people have the sense that they are here on earth for some purpose. Ultimately, this purpose can only be revealed by the God who created all things. He made us to work how we work, but more importantly, He knows why. God says in His Word that you were made to be loved!
In Jeremiah 31:3, God says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” From eternity past, God has loved you and He will continue to love you forever! His love is not mere emotion, but a powerful all-encompassing love that seeks to make your heart like His, which is the most loving thing that He could do for His children. What an incredible thought, to know that you were made to be loved by God!
The more fully you rest in God’s love for you, the more fully you are able to love others. This is exactly what God intended. God made you to receive His love so that you might show that same love to the people around you.
Prayer for the day:
Today, thank God for loving you so completely. Ask God to help you fully rest in His love, and to love others as He loves you.
