God Fights For UsMuestra
Surrender your Battle
Have you ever seen somebody speaking to themselves and having a whole conversation in their head? It is so funny (and sometimes scary!) to see people so involved in their mind that they forget about the rest of the world and act as if nobody was watching them. In difficult times, we tend to focus so hard on our thoughts and limitations that the rest of the world seems to vanish. We cannot get our minds to think about anything else. We do not even care if we look like crazy people to those who surround us.
It is so hard to cast our cares on God and stop thinking about them! Yes, real surrender and trust are based on doing exactly this. It is not our problem anymore but has become God’s. This is what allowing God to fight for us means. All of life is a chance to trust Him more.
Saint Augustine prayed like this: “Lord… you have made us for yourself and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you.” Find the rest you need in God. Let us pray together and surrender our cares to the Lord.
Prayer:
I trust you Jesus with my battles. There is nothing in this world that can separate me from your love. As I trust you, I know that you will step in and save me. Fight my battle for me. I need your ability, strength, power, and character to intervene.
I recognize that I do not have what it takes to win this battle, but your grace is sufficient for me. Your power is made perfect in weakness. What I do know is that when I am weak, I am strong in you.
Thank you Jesus, because in spite of my bad decisions you still fight my battles. You won the victory over sin and death. Thank you for your saving grace. I surrender my battle. Give me your peace.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
