A Conquerors Confession for an Every Day BattleMuestra
OVERCOMING OPPOSITION
“The reason why many fail in battle is that they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is that they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came." -R.A. Torrey
God did not come so that I would not have any trouble, but He came to give me power. He did not come to make all of my troubles go away, but He came to give me boldness in the midst of it all.
The Apostle Paul once made a prayer of supplication to the Lord so that he would not have to wrestle with a thorn in his flesh, a messenger of Satan. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV) it says of God, “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.’ Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.”
When Michelangelo was ordered to decorate the walls of the Sistine Chapel, he refused. He had never done any work of that kind and said he could not do it. He was told his refusal would not be accepted. When he discovered that there was no alternative without unpleasant consequences, he mixed his colors and went to work. In spite of it all, his work is recognized as some of the world’s finest art.
Few realize what possibilities are locked up within them until some necessity compels them to attempt something new.
God is saying the same to you. In the opposition you are facing today Jesus says, “I have given you the strength to be empowered against the opposition. Your inheritance as a believer and child of God is peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over oppositions.
Today, hearken to the voice of the Lord. He has your back. You are not fighting alone.
Confession for today: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me to conquer the opposition on my way to my promised land in Jesus's name. Amen.
