Life On Mission

DÍA 25 DE 30

As followers of Jesus, we are carriers of a very important quality. We carry hope. In chaos, in pain, in desperation, we have been so transformed by God that we infect others with hope. At least, we should.

When I was about 13 years old my sister and I were playing outside with some neighborhood kids. It was a usual gloomy Oregon spring day and the grass at the neighbor’s house on their slight inclined yard looked so appealing to roll down. My mother shouted out to us, “Be careful because Bill and Suzy are just getting over chickenpox! You don’t want to catch it.” Needless to say, we didn’t listen and we played with them, and enjoyed the afternoon. We didn’t realize that in just a week's time we were going to have chickenpox ourselves. It was contagious and our proximity to the infected increased the chance that we’d catch it.

The same is true with hope, if you are truly a carrier of hope, then those that you are close to will catch it. Hope is contagious!

The source of our hope is found in Jesus Christ and what He has done for us, how He has rescued us, and the life we now have. The trials came with a purpose. On the other end we grew in hope. In light of God’s past faithfulness, we have greater hope for the future.

Pray that God will help you to be a carrier of hope. Pray that your hope will be contagious to those around you.

Life On Mission

Welcome to the Life on Mission devotional. We can often get overwhelmed with the demands of life and chaos of our world. We quickly forget that God has a mission for us while on earth. There are amazing things for you to see, do and accomplish and God empowers you to do all of them. This devotional is meant to get your life out of a rut and onto God’s mission for your life. Every third day there will be a “mission” for you to apply to your life. We’re God’s people, on a mission, to reflect his goodness to the entire world. Let’s do this!
