Judges: 10-Day Devotional Reading PlanMuestra
In the midst of a grim tale, we can’t help but find comfort in discovering that God gives grace to undeserving people. We saw it this week in Israel’s uniting against evil and then turning to the Lord as they did. We see it in how the Lord was quick to guide them and direct their course to bless them in the long run.
Israel had the tabernacle, which symbolized God’s presence with them, but we have something so much better—the Holy Spirit indwelling us. Talk about grace!
Reflection:
As we ponder God’s graciousness toward undeserving Israel, how can this encourage us to turn to the Lord even when we’ve strayed?
When we are overwhelmed with guilt and feelings of shame because of our weaknesses and sins, how can we draw near to God afresh through the means of grace He’s made available to us? Consider the place of prayer, the Bible, and your church family. Consider, too, why we don’t have to have our spiritual act perfectly together to access these means of grace.
