God’s amazing grace—we need it every bit as much as Israel did in the days of the judges. Like them, we reject God in favor of idols. We’ve merely replaced Israel’s silver statues with the idols of pleasure, beauty, success, and even parenthood. And like Israel, we want to run our own lives rather than do things on God’s terms.

Describe a time when God rescued you from a mess of your own making and what this taught you about His amazing grace. Or perhaps, right now, you are struggling and you desperately need to be rescued! If so, how does Hebrews 4:15–16 help you?
