Be honest: have you ever secretly thought, “I could really serve the Lord if He would put me over here, or move me over there, or take this person out of my life, or bring this circumstance to an end. I could be such a ‘good’ Christian if…”? I must admit I have! Do any of these ring true for you?

As soon as I get this anger/lust/eating/forgiveness problem under control…
As soon as my husband becomes a follower of Christ…
As soon as the crisis is over…
When I get married…
When I get my health back…
When I’m older…

Precious follower of Christ, you are where and when you are because your Father chose you for such a time as this. He chose you for such a place as this, in such a circumstance as this. Your steps are ordered by Him. The Almighty has chosen you to be right where you are so you may serve Him. Serve Him right where you are, in the place where you are, in the circumstances in which you find yourself. Be faithful where He has placed you. He will honor your heartfelt obedience.

Prayer for the Day

Father, help me to see where You’ve placed me and when You’ve placed me from Your perspective. Thank You! In Jesus’s name, amen.
