Year of the Bible: Part Eight of TwelveMuestra
There is a God in Heaven
The key phrase of the day is, "there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries" (Daniel 2:28). This statement from Daniel's mouth holds the key to our everyday questions and musings: there is a God. So much of our culture does not believe He exists, but He does.
Not only does God exist, but He also reveals mysteries to us. We may ask questions about whom to marry, whether we should take a certain job, or why bad things happen to good people. In all these questions, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.
Daniel was set to interpret a dream he had not yet been told about! He was going to foretell the future we now study in history books. The golden era of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon would end, and other great dynastic kingdoms would take control: first, the silver Persian empire, then the bronze kingdom of Alexander the Great, the Greek conqueror, and finally, the Roman Empire of Jesus' time on earth.
Yet, before Daniel revealed this amazing dream and interpretation, he honored God. He ensured the king knew that this was not his own prowess or talent. This was from the God of heaven, whom Daniel connected with daily.
Friends, you and I have direct access to the same God through Jesus and His finished work on the Cross. There is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He wants to reveal them to you.
Question: Ask God what mysteries He would like to reveal to you.
Prayer: God, I want to know You more. I want to hear from You and revel in the mysteries of who You are and the wonders You have created. Help me ask the right questions and know You better. In Jesus' name, Amen!
Special Assignment: Ask God to reveal a mystery about Himself today. Make sure you keep your eyes and ears open for the answer.
