A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS
Have you ever been lost? Remember the relief you felt when someone pointed you in the right direction or your phone got service and GPS worked? Have you ever been in the dark, unable to see a single thing? Remember the relief you felt when you saw some light or the sun started to come up?
When we face struggles and feel lost, we must look to God for direction. His will for our life is greater than anything the world can offer. We often try to take control or look to other people for direction when we really should seek God first. He wants to be the first one we ask directions from.
John 12:35 says, "He who walks in the dark does not know where he goes." It would be tough to find your way around in the pitch-black. Just like it is tough to live in darkness, this world brings upon us in times of struggle. I had a season where I lived in a very dark place. Everything felt negative and heavy. I isolated myself from people, thinking I was the only one with these feelings. One day, I hit rock bottom, fell to my knees, and surrendered everything. God met me right where I was and poured light into that darkness. He will always be a light for us when we are lost; we need to look to Him and let Him in. God's will is for us to lean on Him and study His word, so if we find ourselves in a time of darkness, we have the tools to get out of it and see the light.
