A Merry and Bright Adventure for ChristmasMuestra
Spread the Good News
Jesus commanded us to go into all the world and spread His gospel to everyone. And while we may not be able to physically go everywhere in the world, there are many ways we can share the good news of Jesus with others. One of those ways is by sending Christmas cards to people near and far.
Did you know that people have been sending Christmas cards for nearly two hundred years? The very first Christmas card was sent by Henry Cole in England in 1843. He had 1,000 cards printed by his friend J. C. Horsley. It was a quick way for Henry to respond to all the people who were writing letters to him. Since then, the tradition has grown.
Christmas cards come in many shapes, sizes, and designs, but they all give you an opportunity to reach out and spread the hope of Jesus, tell people that you love them, and share some holiday cheer. This is a great way to minister to your family and friends.
You can also make cards for people you don’t know. You could write to soldiers stationed around the world, bring cards to an assisted living facility, or even give to the homeless in your community. You can write encouraging messages and your favorite Scriptures on the cards too. You never know how a small act of kindness can leave a lasting impact and ignite hope. Don’t forget to pray over the cards before you send them and pray for the people who send cards to you as well. They can serve as great reminders to pray for friends and family daily.
